Work Experience
If you are a Transition Year or Secondary School student looking to do your work experience in The National Reptile Zoo please apply via the application form below and follow the instructions listed.
Places are limited and usually offered on a first come first serve basis – we’d love to give everyone the chance to see what it’s like to work in a Zoo, but unfortunately we can’t take everyone. Get your applications in as early as you can!
Work Experience Students will be offered the chance to work in all areas of the zoo, from reception, administration, habitat and zoo cleaning as well as animal handling and feeding. There are of course certain areas you will not be allowed to work in, but we do our best to give everyone a rounded experience!

Please note that applying does not mean you have been accepted for the programme, a member of staff will be in touch via email once you have completed the above steps.
All applications for work placements are treated the same as if a person were applying for a job in the zoo. You must complete all applications yourself – we will not accept any applications made by a parent or teacher on your behalf.
